We have all been given special gifts with which to serve God and His people. Through the various organizations and committees within Christ Lutheran, our congregational members are welcomed and encouraged to invest their time and talents to serve where they feel called. Father-Daughter Ball Committee:In 1997 a small group of ladies had a vision of hosting an event that would strengthen father/daughter relationships. This was the start of the “Annual Father/Daughter Valentine Ball”. Partnered with KDNW Radio station, this event brings fathers and daughters together for a night of dinner and dancing. Many men & women of various ages from our congregation volunteer their time to assist in this wholesome event. It provides a wonderful opportunity for you to be creative and supportive of our Christian outreach. Sewing Group:If you like to sew, this is the group for you! Armed with donated old and new material (requiring pressing, cutting, and fitting of pieces), this group lovingly turns what was once scraps of cloth into quilts and lap robes. These are then given to local charities such as the Battered Women's Shelter, Salvation Army, and Viewcrest Nursing Home. Young or old, you are always welcome to come work with them and enjoy their company on the 2nd and 4th Monday at 9:00 a.m. during the months of September through May. Sunshine Group:This group is just like it sounds: spreading warmth and sunshine to all through the wonderful smells emanating from the kitchen! They not only get together at Christmas time to make and sell Spritz cookies, they also make home made pasties many times during the year. They are always looking for volunteers to help cut vegetables or sprinkle sugar! Thanks to their fundraising efforts, many of our church projects have been completed. Bible Study (general): Bible study is held on Sunday mornings immediately following the coffee hour, and on Wednesday evenings beginning at 7:00. Both sessions are held in the Fellowship Hall and take place during the regular school year. Altar Guild:This group is responsible for caring for the altar, pulpit and
lecturn, which includes the paraments, candles, plants or flowers and the communion
ware. The Altar Guild consists of two chairpersons. Two or more members serve together each month. New assistants are always encouraged.
