WORLD MISSION CONTRIBUTIONS
Your contributions do make a difference. We have received resent reports from Eastern European Missions Network (EEMN), The Sending Place, the Saint Timothy Society and Lutheran Bible Translators.

EEMN has served 800+ students along with teachers and other workers at 9 English Language Camps in Russia, Latvia, Slovakia and the Ukraine. The Sending Place has had teams in Thailand, Ghana, Ukraine, Kenya, Russian, India, the Phillippines and others, touching the lives of thousands. The Lutheran Bible Translators where the Finleys are, continue to do their excellent work translating God's Word. Pastor Aadland with the St. Timothy Project has been teaching 60 men and women in the Matongo Lutheran Theological College, who upon graduation will teach and bring God's Word to their own people.

These reports are very touching. It is through your contributions, support and prayers that these missions have been so blessed.

Free-Will Mission Offering
On Sunday, March 21, we will be accepting one of our scheduled Free-Will Offerings for Missions. The target mission is the Lutheran Bible Translaters. The missionaries and staff of Lutheran Bible Translators face many deliemmas. With so many people in need of God's Word, the big picture can be intimidating. The mission of LBT is to help bring people to faith in Jesus Christ by making the Word of God available to those who do not yet have it in the language of their hearts. Whether providing training for a missionary, supplies for a translation office, or primers for literacy classes, your gift is a valuable contribution towards bringing God's Word to all people in every language. Please consider donating to this worthy cause.

LOCAL - FOOD SHELF
CLC is very active in distributing food to the West Emergency Food Shelf. We recently added 120# for a total of 3,125 pounds! Please continue to contribute to this worthy cause by bringing your food shelf items to church on the first Sunday of the month and depositing them in the barrel in the west entrance. Cash donations are also accepted. And if you forget, you can always bring it the next Sunday. Deliveries to the site are on the 1st of each month. Our next target date is February 7.

Helping Hands Ministry

A helping hand and a willing heart go a long way. Many of our brothers and sisters could be blessed by a sacrifice of our time and energy. To that end, we here at Christ Lutheran are willing to assist anyone who might need help with a small household project. Examples include the moving of furniture or the hanging of pictures. Some projects simply need some light lifting, while others may require some skill.

If you are looking for a Helping Hand please contact one of the members below:

Jim or Sandy Carlson 723-1653

Project Timothy Update

We recently received this update from Pastor Aadland:

The group just completed five weeks of classes at Matongo Lutheran Theological College through support of Project Timothy which helps train servants of the Word who will proclaim the Gospel in eastern Africa, from Rwanda and Uganda to Kenya and Sudan. This is a strong and growing community--dedicated to studying the Scriptures & training future servants of the Word. Leaders from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya and MLTC have been meeting with consultants for the development of Neema Lutheran University of Kenya. The theological faculty is to be the foundation of that university. Project Timothy--Kenya also helps Christians in Africa grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and to expand their witness to the Savior.

Second semester begins January 12. In addition to continuing courses in the History of Theology and Dogmatics, Pastor Aadland will be teaching the History of Israel (especially I and II Samuel) and Old Testament Theology. He may also be teaching Catechism to those in the new Deaconess Program.

Pastor Aadland wishes to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support. If you are so moved to make a donation in support of this ministry, please make checks to: Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church; 18360 Minnetonka Blvd.; Wayzata MN 55391. Please note in the memo line "For Project Timothy--Kenya".

Our church library was started in May, 1967 with a $5.00 donation and 21 used books. Today there are more than 3,000 books available for your perusal. We also have a wonderful children's section, along with a line of videos for all ages.

As a member of the Lake Superior Chapter of the Lutheran Library Association we receive assistance in book selection and library procedures that helps us to maintain our goal of providing good Christian reading material for our church members.

Come in and browse! We are sure you will find a topic of interest and one of our librarians is always available on Sunday mornings to help aid in your selections or to answer your questions. If you need an item during the week, we can help you with that as well. Our library system is computerized which enables us to assist you quickly and conveniently.

We have a wonderful program for graduates and “twenty something” individuals led by our Associate Pastor Chris and his wife Heidi. They meet once a month for social time and worship and to talk about concerns of college and career minded individuals.

Nursery

We provide quality child care in order to assist parents during the church service. We encourage our families to worship together but understand that during the church hour child care may be desired and helpful. Child care is currently offered on Sunday mornings during the regular worship service, September through May.
