The weather was HOT! the entire time which made going in the water all that more fun. We listened to great speakers, made lots of new friends, and had a great time doing lots of fun activities. We can't wait to go again next year!
Confirmation Classes: for 5th and 6th grades (during the Sunday School hour); for 7th and 8th grades (Wednesdays 5:45 - 6:45 p.m. and also during the Sunday School hour). Our young people in grades 7 and 8 are given a two-year confirmation instruction program which is based on Luther’s Small Catechism. It covers 46 lessons. Each lesson draws into account specific passages from the Bible and requires memorization of a portion of those passages. As it is important that our youth become familiar with the stories of the Bible, grades 5 and 6 study the Children’s Story Bible prior to entering Confirmation class. This takes place during the Sunday School hour and covers the stories of the Old and New Testaments. The confirmation class is lead by the pastor and is held on Wednesday evenings during the regular school year and also during the week of Vacation Bible School. On Sunday mornings the class attends an opening with songs and prayer and then works on their memory work. K.I.C.s:Kids In Confirmation is for our confirmation youth in grades 5-8 . This group generally meets for a get together on the first Wednesday of the month, following confirmation class. Activities include bowling, in-church movies, sledding, skating, and others. The youth in this group serve as Acolytes during the church service and assist the ROC Group with serving coffee during fellowship time on Sunday mornings. They are also invited to attend conferences and camps that are available in their age bracket. The youth in KIC’s have a great time and look forward to new youth joining them as they work to strengthen their Christian friendships and walk with our Lord. This group also participates in monthly activities that are sometimes combined with the ROC group. They have an annual video scavenger hunt when they are confirmed to initiate their entrance into the ROC group. They also attend the ND Bible Camp. They are also invited to attend conferences and camps that are available in their age bracket.
ROC (Reaching Out for Christ) Rap Group: This group plans many activities to strengthen their Christian friendships such as bowling, roller skating & movie nights. They also have occasional Twin's baseball trips and attend the AALC's regional Bible Camp in Garrison, ND. They take turns serving coffee during fellowship time on Sunday mornings, assist with Vacation Bible School and with communion services. They also have annual fundraisers such as spaghetti dinners and/or Easter Breakfast.
The youth have a Bible Rap every Sunday morning during the Sunday School hour during the school year. They also discuss current events and various topics from a Christian perspective. They usually meet the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month for activities and devotions beginning at 6:00 p.m. It’s a great group for the older teens of our church.
